BMW Malaysia Gives Its 3-Series The Mildest Of Updates For 2025

The 2025 BMW 3-Series in Malaysia now nets a mildly redesigned cabin and the latest infotainment operating system.

BMW Malaysia has certainly been off to the races in 2025. Such is as not even a week since it debuted the new 530i M Sport variant and refreshed i4 locally, it has since also brought along a (very-mildly) updated version of its evergreen 3-Series.

This most recent update is incidentally to be the second of such minor changes made to the G20 generation of 3-Series after the facelift — or Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) in BMW-speak — made its local debut back 2023. And frankly, you’ve got to be a real Bimmer anorak to really notice what exactly has changed in this premium German sedan for 2025.

Starting on the outside first, the only way to really tell that the 3-Series in question is a 2025 model is if it either comes in Fire Red and Arctic Race Blue. This is because the addition of these two new hues (to the existing palette of Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, M Brooklyn Grey Metallic and M Carbon Black Metallic) are to be the sole change made to the exterior from this update.

There are handily to be a few more major changes awaiting within the 2025 3-Series however, with this update having eschewed the previously fully-circular steering wheel for a a new flat-bottomed M Sport unit with a 12 ‘o clock marker. BMW has since also slightly altered the air-con vent shape to a more geometrical design with hidden directional fins, and further integrated an ambient light bar into the central vent for that little extra bit of pizzazz.

Speaking of pizzazz meanwhile, the 12.3-inch instrument display and 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen that make up the BMW Curved Display in the 2025 3-Series now runs on the latest BMW Operating System 8.5. This thus brings with it the QuickSelect touch-oriented menu structure, in addition to enhanced augmented reality capabilities for its Parking Assistant system and improved speech recognition for the Intelligent Personal Assistant voice control.

In rounding up the minor changes here for the 3-er this time round, the upper dashboard and door panels of this sedan now benefit from a finer grain finish, with the long-wheelbase 330Li further receiving a new geometrical surface décor trims as standard. BMW also currently touts that variants fitted with passive dampers has received a retuned suspension setup from this update, as it silently drops the PHEV 330e trim for a purely-petrol 3-series lineup for 2025.

Four variants of updated BMW 3-Series are available in Malaysia for 2025, with each to be RM 6,000 more expensive than they were last year. These are:

  • BMW 320i M Sport: RM 299,800
  • BMW 330i M Sport: RM 335,200
  • BMW 330Li M Sport: RM 341,200
  • BMW M340i xDrive M Sport Pro: RM 412,200

All prices stated above are inclusive of a five-year warranty and service package.
