Andrea Somorova Is Managing Director At Continental Tyre Malaysia
Continental Tyre Malaysia has issued a statement saying they just appointed a new Managing Director, Andrea Somorova. Andrea has been at Continental Group for over 23 years.
She spent 18 of those years in Asia including a six-year stint in Malaysia from 2004 to 2010. After that, she joined the Continental of Taiwan as a Managing Director.
Andrea Somorova first started with the Continental Group back in 1999 in her native country Slovakia. Later on, she got moved to Continental in Germany before posting as several managerial roles in Asian countries like Malaysia, Taiwan and other APAC markets.
During her time in Taiwan, Andrea Somorova played a big role in helping Continental achieve its highest brand awareness among the Asia Pacific markets. She also led the Continental team through the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Andrea Somorova said, “It has been an amazing journey for me in Continental Group and the last five years leading the Taiwan business has been nothing short of extraordinary. My experience from Taiwan and beyond will serve me well in Malaysia which presents exciting opportunities for Continental, our team and our customers.”

Andrea will be taking over Samir Gupta, who will now oversee the India Operations while continuing to head the Central Asia Region Passenger and Light Truck Tires Replacement Business (PLT RE) at Continental.
Samir Gupta believes that Andrea Somorova will play an important part in continuing Continental Tyres excellent service in Malaysia. “Her vast knowledge in the region and her familiarity with the Malaysian market will complement the amazing team in Malaysia who I’ve had the privilege to work with over the past two years,” he added.
