Lamborghini Urus SE Tackles New Zealand’s Alpine Terrain During Esperienza Terra

Automobili Lamborghini brought its Esperienza Terra driving programme to Queenstown, New Zealand, from 13 to 28 October 2026.
The event welcomed customers from across Asia Pacific to experience the Urus SE across mountain roads and off-road terrain. It was held over eight separate waves, with different itineraries for participants based on their home markets.
Customers from Australia and New Zealand took part in a three-day, two-night programme. Participants from other Asia Pacific markets attended a four-day, three-night experience.
Driving through Queenstown’s alpine landscape
The programme included winding mountain roads and off-road trails. Participants explored the Urus SE’s different driving modes across the varied terrain.
Strada mode provided a more comfort-focused driving experience, while Sport mode offered sharper responses and more engaging handling.
One of the main activities involved climbing Queenstown Hill using Terra mode. This allowed participants to experience the vehicle’s traction and handling on off-road surfaces.
The route also offered views of Queenstown and surrounding landmarks, including The Remarkables and Coronet Peak.
Urus SE powertrain and capabilities
The Urus SE combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an electric motor. The plug-in hybrid powertrain produces a combined output of 800 CV and 950Nm of torque.
Its four-wheel-drive system, adaptive air suspension and dedicated driving modes help manage traction and vehicle dynamics across different surfaces.
The combination is designed to deliver the performance expected from Lamborghini while retaining the versatility needed for road and off-road driving.
Hospitality and regional experiences
Esperienza Terra also included activities beyond the driving programme. Participants took scenic helicopter flights over New Zealand’s mountains and glaciers.
The itinerary featured private dining at Rosewood Matakauri, overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Guests also visited Rātā Restaurant, which received One MICHELIN Star in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide New Zealand.
The Queenstown programme forms part of Lamborghini’s wider series of exclusive driving experiences across Asia Pacific. These events allow customers to explore the capabilities of its vehicles in different environments.
