Lexus Unveils New TZ Three-Row Electric SUV

Lexus has unveiled the new TZ, an all-electric three-row SUV designed around the brand’s “Driving Lounge” concept, combining a spacious lounge-like cabin with the driving performance expected from a Lexus.
Positioned under the theme “DISCOVER LIMITLESS”, the TZ is intended to offer greater flexibility for families and customers looking for a more comfortable way to travel. Lexus says the model focuses on passenger relaxation while retaining its emphasis on quietness, ride comfort and driving dynamics.
The TZ measures 5,100 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,705 mm tall, with a 3,050 mm wheelbase. It has a prototype weight of 2,630 kg and offers between 290 litres and 2,017 litres of cargo space, depending on the seating configuration.
Inside, the TZ features a wide, slim movable panoramic roof and a newly developed platform designed to create a more open cabin. Lexus has also worked on sound directivity control to create what it describes as a natural acoustic environment, supported by the audio system and ambient lighting.
The SUV is powered by an all-wheel-drive system with a maximum system output of 300 kW, equivalent to around 408 PS. Both the front and rear motors are rated at 167 kW, with each producing up to 268.6 Nm of torque. Lexus quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 5.4 seconds.
Power comes from a 95.82 kWh battery, with the claimed range varying depending on the market and testing standard. Lexus lists up to 300 miles under EPA testing in North America, 620 km under Japan’s WLTC, 530 km under Europe’s WLTP and 640 km under China’s CLTC.
Using a 150 kW DC charger, the TZ can take approximately 35 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, although Lexus notes that actual charging times can vary depending on conditions and charger specifications.
The TZ also introduces features such as Rear Comfort mode, which prioritises rear-seat comfort through a combination of hardware and software, while Interactive Manual Drive is designed to provide a more engaging driving experience.
Design-wise, the SUV combines Lexus’ spindle body with geometric detailing aimed at improving aerodynamic performance. The wheels are also designed to balance styling and aerodynamic efficiency.
Sustainability is another focus, with materials including forged bamboo and recycled aluminium used throughout the vehicle. Lexus says the TZ also incorporates circular vehicle development and manufacturing processes intended to reduce environmental impact.
The specifications remain prototype figures and may vary depending on region and final configuration.
