2026 BYD ATTO 3 Reaches 1,000 Bookings Milestone in Record Time
Malaysia’s favourite EV repeats its 2022 success story, achieving over 1,000 bookings within 10 days of launch.

BYD Sime Motors has recorded a strong response to the newly launched 2026 BYD ATTO 3, securing more than 1,000 bookings within just 10 days of its official debut in Malaysia.
The milestone mirrors the model’s original launch in 2022, when the BYD ATTO 3 achieved the same booking figure within an identical timeframe. The achievement further reinforces the model’s popularity among Malaysian consumers and highlights the growing demand for practical, technology-driven electric vehicles.
Unveiled during the Sime Motors MotorExpo 2026, the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 made its regional debut in Malaysia, making the country the first market in the Asia Pacific region to receive the updated model. Featuring the tagline “Faster, Further, Smarter”, the latest version introduces several enhancements, including improved performance, faster charging capabilities and an extended driving range.
One of the key highlights is the new Rear-Wheel Drive premium variant, capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds. The model also supports DC fast charging of up to 220kW and offers a driving range of up to 600km, complemented by upgraded safety technologies and intelligent driving features designed for everyday usability.
The strong booking momentum reflects continued interest in EV adoption among Malaysians, particularly for models that combine practicality, innovation and value. The achievement also builds on the BYD ATTO 3’s established track record in the local market, where it remains Malaysia’s all-time best-selling EV with more than 12,000 units delivered to date.
To commemorate the milestone, BYD Sime Motors recently celebrated the delivery of the 1,000th booking at BYD Bandar Utama, recreating a similar moment from the model’s original launch in 2022. The event highlighted the enduring appeal of the ATTO 3 and the continued growth of the BYD community in Malaysia.
According to BYD Malaysia Managing Director Jacob Ma, the positive response reflects the changing expectations of Malaysian motorists who increasingly prioritise technology, convenience and everyday usability when choosing their next vehicle.
Supporting the brand’s growth is BYD Sime Motors’ nationwide network, which currently consists of 44 sales and marketing outlets, 25 aftersales facilities and 12 body and paint centres. Backed by certified technicians, strong parts availability and comprehensive customer support, the company continues to strengthen its position as Malaysia’s leading EV brand while supporting the country’s transition towards electrified mobility.
