The Golf GTI Sepang Edition features motorsport-inspired decals, special emblems and 18-inch Gunmetal Matte Grey Richmond alloy wheels – all the exclusive highlights built to make every drive feel iconic.

The last special edition Golf GTI was priced at RM267,990.This was the ‘Edition 50‘, in celebration of this iconic German hatchback celebrating its half-centenary anniversary worldwide in 2024. This locally-assembled special edition adds a few minor aesthetic enhancements on the outside and within, with it being available locally (in apparently limited numbers).

So, does this SIC inspired GTI look a lot like the Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) locally assembled Golf R which is priced from RM330,000 to RM350,000 and was launched just 2 years ago on August 2023?

This version of the Golf R first arrived in Malaysia in February 2022 and was priced at RM356k. It was powered by a 2.0TSI 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produced 320PS and 400Nm of torque. This power was sent to all four wheels (4MOTION) via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG).
