The Perodua Flexiplan Brings Agility Financing To The Masses

This new Perodua Flexiplan is incidentally Malaysia’s first Shariah-compliant agility financing solution.

Perodua is bringing the agility financing plan (once popularised by premium marques) to the masses, as it partners with Maybank Islamic Berhad to introduce the innovative Perodua Flexiplan. Powered by Maybank Islamic myimpact Drive Financing-i, this represents Malaysia’s first Shariah-compliant agility financing solution that promises to make flexible vehicle ownership accessible to mainstream consumers.

The Perodua Flexiplan is touted to combine competitive Islamic financing with unprecedented flexibility, addressing the evolving needs of modern car buyers while adhering to Shariah-compliant principles. The plan is currently available for four popular Perodua models: Myvi, Axia (excluding Axia E), Ativa, and Aruz.

Under the Perodua Flexiplan, customers can benefit from:

  • Competitive Murabahah Vehicle Term Financing for more affordable monthly instalments over a five-year term.
  • Guaranteed competitive buy-back value from Perodua at the end of the term when purchasing a new model (terms apply).
  • Flexible ownership choices — trade in for a new model or keep the existing vehicle under a revised plan.

At the five-year mark, customers face three attractive options. They can trade in their current Perodua vehicle for a new model, utilising the secured residual value to offset down payments and refresh their five-year financing term. Alternatively, customers may retain their vehicles by settling outstanding balances or extending financing for up to four additional years under revised payment structures.

Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Perodua’s President and Chief Executive Officer, emphasised the mutual benefits of this collaboration, stating that the partnership ensures positive outcomes for Perodua, Maybank Islamic, and especially valued customers. He expressed confidence that combining Malaysia’s biggest bank’s backing with Perodua’s established trust among Malaysians will drive strong market acceptance.

Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar, Group CEO of Community and Financial Services at Maybank, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the Maybank Group’s commitment to empowering customers through flexible, transparent, inclusive, and sustainable financial solutions. The Maybank Islamic myimpact Drive Financing-i reflects their values-based banking approach, addressing modern car buyers’ preferences while providing flexible ownership choices.

This innovative car ownership plan reinforces Maybank Islamic’s position as Malaysia’s leading Islamic bank, consistently evolving to meet customer needs through purpose-driven solutions. The Perodua Flexiplan enhances the existing ecosystem of Shariah-compliant solutions for Perodua vehicle owners, complementing services like Perodua Total Protect Plus comprehensive takaful underwritten by Etiqa, which includes additional RM 5,000 Special Peril coverage and Credit Reducing Term Takaful protection.
