Initially previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow to an overwhelmingly positive response, the Bingo is the first product under the new TQ Wuling brand — a strategic collaboration between Tan Chong Motor Holdings and SAIC-GM-Wuling. This tour aims to build on that buzz by giving more Malaysians a chance to experience the car up close.
“The #HelloTQWBingo Tour is about making EVs more relatable and accessible,” said Wan Wei Sun, Head of Business at TQ Manufacturing. “We want Malaysians to experience first-hand what makes the Bingo such a compelling urban EV.”
Visitors to the roadshow can expect not just a look at the car itself, but also enjoy fun activities, exclusive giveaways, and live performances at selected locations.
Now, for those thinking this is just another EV from yet another Chinese automaker, here’s the headline: the TQ Wuling Bingo is expected to be priced below RM100,000. This figure is made possible thanks to local assembly at Tan Chong’s Segambut plant, which allows it to bypass the RM100k floor price imposed on fully imported (CBU) EVs.
Design-wise, the Bingo blends retro charm with modern practicality. Dimensionally, this all-electric hatchback is just a tad longer and wider than a Perodua Myvi. Paired with a smooth, aerodynamic profile and a choice of trendy pastel tones, it is clearly aimed at younger, style-conscious urban drivers.
While local specifications are still under wraps for now, reference can be made to the Indonesian-market Wuling Binguo EV, which comes in two variants:
- Long Range: 31.9 kWh LFP battery, 273 km WLTP-equivalent range, 120 km/h top speed
- Premium Range: 37.9 kWh battery, 336 km WLTP-equivalent range, 130 km/h top speed
Both feature a 50kW (67hp) electric motor, with AC charging (5.5–6.5 hours) and DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes.
