Tesla Malaysia Now Offering Inventory Model Ys From RM 173,800
The smart money though will probably be to wait till April when the newly-refreshed Model Ys land locally.
While Tesla Malaysia have since announced that it is currently accepting orders for the newly-facelifted Model Y that is due to arrive over here in April, it appears for there to still be a few units of its pre-updated predecessor left in its local inventory.
And hence likely just to help shift these soon-to-be-outdated Model Ys that are still in stock, the American automaker is currently offering up to a 10% discount on these e-SUVs, with the cheapest of these still-brand-new units to possibly be yours today from just RM 173,800.
Now going by Tesla’s own inventory listing site here, the headline RM 173,800 price tag is only to be attached to what seems like a sole example of base-spec Rear Wheel Drive variant of Model Y, which comes with a Pearl White exterior, All Black Premium interior and Basic Autopilot only (Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self Driving could be added on at a cost of RM 16,000 and RM 32,000 respectively). Previously, a Model Y in such spec would have set its buyer back RM 191,000.
There are presently 5 other Rear-Wheel Drive examples listed on the website, ranging from between RM 186,300 to RM 194,800.
For those who require a bit more range (WLTP-rated 533 km) and a bit more power (0-100 km/h in 5 seconds) meanwhile, there are currently two units of Long Range All-Wheel Drive Model Ys listed. Both of which are in Stealth Grey, but differentiated by interior upholstery colour. The e-SUV with black upholstery is to be priced at RM 255,500, while the one with the black and white cabin commands a RM 5,000 premium.
Finally rounding up the inventory are a healthy selection of 6 Performance All-Wheel Drive variants available in a myriad of colours. The discounted for this e-SUV (which can do 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds) currently range from RM 254,400 to RM 261,900, down from the starting price of RM 280,000 when it first made its local debut this past March.
Do note that Tesla Malaysia does not currently accept new orders for the pre-facelift Model Y anymore, with the official site only allowing orders now for the upcoming facelifted version of this e-SUV. The inventory incidentally also has a few discounted Model 3s in stock, with prices for this smaller and sleeker EV beginning from RM 242,000.
