The 695 75° Anniversario Is Abarth’s 75th Birthday Present To Itself
This limited-run anniversary Abarth nets some gold accents and a rather steep price tag.
While Abarth has already been dipping its toes into spicing up the next-generation of fully-electric Fiats, it appears that there might still be some petrol left in its blood to mark the Scorpion-branded tuning firm’s 75th birthday. Such is because for this special anniversary, the Italian tuner has instead gone back to the releasing a(nother) tarted-up version of the already 16-year old ICE-equipped 500.
Dubbed aptly as the Abarth 695 75° Anniversario, this particular special edition can be most easily differentiated from the numerous others by way of its exclusive 17-inch wheels finished in the appropriate anniversary gold. The similarly shiny hue is also to be observed on the massive Abarth lettering and piston head stickers contrasting against its base black coat on its profile, with said lairiness then finished off with a massive scorpion motif on its roof, finished in gold of course.
As for other less-gold but equally notable highlights on the outside meanwhile, hiding behind said custom wheels are to be a set of Koni FSD shock absorbers and Brembo brakes all round, which should make this tiny tarted-up Fiat be as nippy as ever when behind the wheel. This sensation of nippiness should be further enhanced too by the inclusion of quad vertically stacked exhaust tips poking out of its rump, which apparently features an active valve to better let that turbo four-pot up front sing its heart out.
And while on the topic of said turbo-four, powering this anniversary edition Abarth is the same boosted 1.4-litre petrol and 5-speed manual powertrain combination that has been on other 695s for the longest time already. In fact, the Italian tuner hasn’t even bothered to fettle with anything under the hood in spite of this landmark occasion, but its existing 180 PS and 250 Nm of torque is nevertheless still supposedly capable of rocketing this pocket rocket to the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in a reasonable 6.7 seconds, and onwards to a top speed of 225 km/h.
Moving on within now, this anniversary edition gains Sabelt carbon seats with gold stitching and colour-matched 75° Anniversario emblem stitched onto the integrated headrests. Aluminium pedals and a part-carbon steering wheel also makes an appearance in this particular special variant, with the tarting-up inside rounded off by some Alcantara in between the 7-inch central infotainment screen and automatic climate control buttons on its dashboard.
Limited to 1,368 units — that incidentally corresponds to the capacity of this tiny tuned Fiat’s engine — the Abarth 695 75° Anniversario is already available to order in European markets. Prices for this black-and-gold edition starts at a rather steep £32,895 (RM 199,000) in the UK, representing the brand’s priciest ICE-powered offering to date. And it should go without saying too that, no, this tiny hot hatch will unfortunately not be available over here (in any official capacity at least) any time soon.
