TATA.CARS launched the all-new sedan, the Tata Aeris, on September 25th 2026. The Aeris comes in petrol and Intelligent Compressed Natural Gas (iCNG) powertrain choices. It even has a Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) option and will available soon at all TATA.CARS dealerships across India with an introductory starting price of Rs 5.29 lakh (~RM22,000) for petrol and Rs 6.29 lakh (~RM27,000) for iCNG.
In the cabin, it features AeroLux ventilated leatherette seats, an OpenView dashboard, dual integrated screens, a 26.03 cm HD touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.7 cm Digital Island Cluster. It also has a Dual Smartphone Deck with wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®, iRA with over 35 connected car features, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, 65W Type-C fast chargers and a 419-litre boot.
As for safety, Six airbags come as standard across the range, supported by Electronic Stability Program (ESP), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control, Hill Hold Control and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. a first-in-segment Blind View Monitor, MultiView Digital Video Recorder and a 360° Surround View System HD camera offering multiple 2D and 3D viewing perspectives also exist to give the driver further peace of mind.
Not to mention features such as auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger and enhanced rear-impact protection contribute to a safer and more reassuring driving experience. On iCNG variants, dedicated safety technologies including leak detection, advanced leak-proof materials, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection provide an additional layer of confidence due to the natural gases used to power this variant.
The 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine is available with both a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT, delivering an effective balance of performance, efficiency and ease of use. For customers seeking lower running costs without sacrificing convenience, Aeris introduces the practicality of iCNG technology with the ease of automatic driving through its iCNG AMT offering.
Most CNG cars have a lower trunk capacity due to the larger tank but TATA.CARS twin-cylinder iCNG technology optimises packaging without compromising luggage capacity, preserving the everyday practicality expected of a modern sedan. Though it should be put into consideration that generally CNG require more maintenance over a petrol car due to factors like accelerated wear on the fuel tank, certain mandatory tests and frequent replacement of spark plugs.
