Save Up To RM 42,000 On An MG HS This Chinese New Year

MG Malaysia is among the first to kickstart Chinese New Year promotions for 2026.
While Chinese New Year is still about a month away, this has not stopped automakers from rolling out their seasonal promotions early. And among the first to get a head start is MG Motor Malaysia, which is offering savings of up to RM42,000 on selected models as part of its festive campaign.

MG Motor Malaysia will be running a nationwide showroom activation dubbed Drive British Dynamics This CNY from 23 to 31 January 2026. The campaign invites Malaysians to experience MG’s “British Dynamics” philosophy, encompassing distinctive design, safety, handling and performance.
In conjunction with the festive period, MG is rolling out limited-time offers across its line-up. These include savings of up to RM 28,000 on the MG S5 EV, RM 42,000 on the MG HS, RM 28,000 on the MG4 EV and RM11,000 on the MG5. Selected models are also available with accelerated delivery, allowing customers to take delivery in under a week, in time for Chinese New Year and Raya, subject to terms and conditions.

Beyond vehicle offers, MG is also introducing a Chinese New Year Aftersales Promotion running from 16 January to 16 February 2026. Customers can enjoy a complimentary 30-point vehicle inspection, 15% off maintenance parts, 10% off labour charges, as well as festive gifts. In fact, even those who participate in test drive sessions during this period will also stand a chance to win Touch ’n Go credits worth RM100, subject to terms and conditions.

Looking at the wider automotive picture, MG is looking to enter 2026 on a strong footing following a transformative 2025 that saw multiple new product introductions and sustained sales growth locally.
Last year began with the launch of the budget-friendly S5 EV SUV in May, followed by the introduction of the Cyberster roads in July. The year also saw the arrival of special editions such as the MG5 X Edition and MG4 101 Edition in October, further strengthening MG’s portfolio across both EV and internal combustion engine segments.
The MG Cyberster in particular achieved a significant milestone in 2025, with Malaysia becoming its best-selling market in Asia and Oceania, excluding China. This placed Malaysia among the global top five markets for Cyberster sales, underscoring the country’s growing importance within MG’s international strategy.

This strong product momentum translated into steady sales growth towards the end of the year, with MG Motor Malaysia recording month-on-month growth of 20% in October, 9% in November and a notable 50% in December, reflecting increasing confidence among Malaysian buyers across both ICE and BEV models.
Meanwhile on the aftersales front, MG has continued to expand its network in 2025 with the opening of six new authorised service centres, bringing the nationwide total to 19. These include outlets in Old Klang Road, Rimbayu, Miri, Sibu, Alor Setar and Sunway.

“2025 was a defining year for MG in Malaysia, and we are encouraged by the strong response from customers across our product range,” said Emory Qi, managing director of SAIC Motor Malaysia. “As we begin 2026, we remain committed to delivering accessible British innovation, exciting driving experiences and a worry-free ownership journey for Malaysian customers. We would also like to thank our customers for their unwavering support throughout 2025.”
Looking ahead, MG plans to further expand its aftersales presence in 2026 with upcoming outlets in Jalan Ipoh, Kuching, Penang, Tebrau and Bandar Tun Razak. As of December 2025, the brand operates a total of 17 3S outlets and two 2S outlets nationwide, ensuring broader coverage and improved access to aftersales support across Malaysia.
