On The Ground At The 2025 Super GT Malaysia Festival

Here’s a collection of snaps from Automacha’s time at the recent 2025 Super GT Malaysia Festival.

After a rather long hiatus, Japan’s premier sports car championship finally made its long-awaited return to Malaysia this month for Round 3 of the 2025 season. And what a comeback it was!

Held under scorching skies at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit and cheered on by big crowds, the event delivered everything a true petrolhead could ask for: wild aero, screaming engines, and machines that looked fast even while standing still.

If you weren’t lucky enough to catch it in person, don’t be sullen because Automacha had boots on the ground for all the action. And we brought back a stack of stunning shots, so now you get to enjoy them too!

Some quick facts: this Malaysian round is the only Super GT event held outside of Japan, and this marked the championship’s first visit to our shores since 2019.

As for the results, the GT500 class was claimed by Giuliano Alesi and Ukyo Sasahara in the #37 TGR Team Deloitte TOM’S GR Supra, while Takashi Kobayashi and Yuto Nomura clinched GT300 honours in the #18 Team UpGarage Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Adding to the weekend’s excitement was the debut of the GR86 Cup in Malaysia, while the crowd-favourite Vios Challenge also returned to the Sepang tarmac to round out a packed festival of racing.
