New MG4 Prices In Malaysia Now Cheaper By Over 20%

The MG4 Lux that previously retailed for RM 128,999 could now be yours for just RM 100,888.
The EV price war in Malaysia shows no signs of cooling, with MG being the latest to throw its hat in the ring by slashing the price of its MG4 by up to RM 28,000.
The local MG4 lineup has been reshuffled somewhat with this price drop, as the entry-level Standard trim (previously RM103,999) has been discontinued, leaving the Lux as the new base variant. The good news for buyers here though is that the Lux instead now starts from just RM100,888, which for those good at math will realise for it to be more than 20% lower than the RM128,999 it commanded at launch just a year ago.
As for those who prioritise range meanwhile, the Lux Extended with its larger 77 kWh battery and claimed 520 km WLTP figure now takes over the RM128,888 price point that the standard Lux once held. Those who prefer some power in turn will likely now be even more interested in the MG4 XPower, which not only delivers a blistering 3.7-second century sprint but also enjoys the biggest reduction, with its price dropping by the headline RM 28,000 to RM 138,888.
And just to make the deal sweeter too, every MG4 comes bundled with a complimentary 7 kW AC wallbox charger (installation excluded) or a chunk of charging credits. MG claims this adds up to RM 7,000 in additional savings for the Lux, and as much as RM 10,000 for the Lux Extended and XPower trims.
It is however not just the MG4 getting these perks though. The newly launched MG S5 EV is also offered with the same “Ultimate Ownership Package”, which includes the free wallbox or charging credits worth up to RM 10,000.
For buyers not yet ready to make the jump to electric, MG Motor Malaysia is also running promotions on its petrol-powered models. The HS SUV comes with up to RM 12,000 in rebates, while the MG5 sedan offers up to RM 8,000. Alternatively, buyers can choose six months of free instalments on top of additional cash rebates.
