Mazda CX-60 Launched Locally Costing RM 198,800

This bigger and posher brother to the Mazda CX-5 currently comes fully imported from Japan.

Following its initial teaser during the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2025 late last year, the Mazda CX-60 has since recently made its way to Malaysia. The bigger and posher brother to the admittedly aging CX-5, this particular SUV lands locally in a sole Japan-imported 2.5L 2WD High trim with a price tag of RM 198,800.

Starting with the basics of dimensions first, the CX-60 measures 4,740 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. This makes it 195 mm longer and 50 mm wider, with a 170 mm longer wheelbase than the second-generation CX-5 currently on sale in Malaysia.

As for aesthetics, the CX-60 presents a slightly more macho appearance than the curvy CX-5. LED lights feature all around, and is complemented by striking 20-inch alloy wheels down the side.

Under the hood of this Mazda sits a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated inline-four cylinder petrol engine that outputs 191 PS and 261 Nm of torque. What will perhaps pique the interest of driving enthusiasts is that the eight-speed transmission bolted onto it sends power to the rear wheels, giving the CX-60 a more engaging driving character. The suspension configuration features double wishbones up front, while a multi-link setup handles duties at the rear.

Moving along inside, the CX-60 continues Mazda’s no-touchscreen philosophy with its 12.3-inch central display (inclusive of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) operated via the Multi-Function Commander Control unit. This is complemented by a fully digital instrument display of the same size, along with a heads-up display and a 12-speaker BOSE sound system.

The cabin upholstery in the CX-60 features black leather with contrast stitching throughout. Both front seats are electrically adjustable — 10-way with memory function for the driver and 8-way for the passenger — while its steering column is similarly electrically adjustable for that added premium touch.

Finally on the safety front, the seven airbags standard on the CX-60 are to be complemented by the usual suite of passive and active driving aids. Among the features included with the latter are adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, cruising and traffic support, smart brake support, driver attention alert with driver monitoring, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring. A 360-degree surround view camera with a “see-through” viewing angle feature has also been thrown in as well. .

Bermaz is currently offering the CX-60 with coverage under a five-year, 100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and includes a five-year, 100,000 km complimentary maintenance package. The SUV is available in five color options: Rhodium White, Zircon Sand, Platinum Quartz, Soul Red Crystal, and Jet Black.
