Lotus Opens Its Maiden Malaysian Flagship Store In Glenmarie

This new Kuala Lumpur flagship store complements the Lotus Store at Pavilion Damansara Heights.

While the big news with Lotus Cars Malaysia in recent time is regarding the local debut of its Emeya all-electric hyper GT, where this launch took place is also incidentally worth a mention too. Such is as the British sports car marque has recently also opened its first self-styled Flagship Store in Kuala Lumpur, which funnily enough being located in Glenmarie is technically in Selangor instead.

The Lotus Kuala Lumpur Flagship Store is presently located at 24, Jalan Juruhebah U1/50, Temasya Industrial Park, 40150 Section U1, Shah Alam. The opening hours of this outlet is from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Sundays and public holidays.

Occupying an overall floor space of 1,765 sq ft — of which 987 sq ft is exclusively devoted to the main showroom — Lotus Kuala Lumpur currently houses two bespoke customer delivery bays, a well-appointed lounge for customers and a dedicated merchandising area. There is also a special configurator room that enables prospective owners to personalise and accessorise every aspect of their vehicle, from exterior and interior preferences to the choice of ultra high performance components and additional safety equipment.

This Glemarie location is to be the second local Lotus retail outlet after the Lotus Store at Pavilion Damansara Heights, that previously opened in February of this year. The new local distributors for the marque has previously said it has ambitions to further expand its presence to the northern and southern regions of Malaysia, with a Lotus Mobile Service Solution also apparently to come as well.

Now as for the products on display at this new flagship store meanwhile, joining the newly debut Emeya will be the Emira Turbo. Making its Malaysian (re)launch just a fortnight ago at time of writing (after a false start last year due to production delays), this particular version of Lotus’ end-of-the-line ICE sports car has ditched the typical Toyota-derived V6 for an M139 2.0 litre turbocharged four-pot and 8-speed dual-clutch transmission pairing sourced from a Mercedes-AMG A45.

Packing 360 hp and 430 Nm, this most powerful four-cylinder Lotus sports car of all time is capable of 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds, with a maximum speed of 290km/h. The Emira Turbo is currently priced at RM509,000 (excluding import duties, insurance and road tax).

For those who might prefer something more higher-riding on the other hand here, Lotus Cars Malaysia will also be showcasing the similarly recently launched base-spec Eletre. This particular spec of e-SUV is to sit below the existing mid-tier S and performance flagship R trim, with its main selling point being the attractive entry price of RM598,800.

Featuring a single-speed all-electric dual-motor setup that is capable of delivering 603 hp and 710 Nm of torque, the base-trim Eletre is in all honesty not missing much from its higher-end counterparts in terms of power. This particular variant of e-SUV is touted to achieve the century sprint in 4.5 seconds and manage a top speed of 258 km/h top speed, while it also quotes a maximum WLTP driving range of 600 km from its 112 kWh battery pack.
