Leapmotor B10 Now Open For Bookings In Malaysia

This smaller Leapmotor SUV is set to land locally with prices in the region of RM 110,000 to RM 120,000.
Leapmotor is soon set to expand its Malaysian lineup, as the Chinese automaker confirms that its (rather popular) B10 crossover will be landing here in December. The smaller sibling to the existing C10 SUV is now open for bookings ahead of its official debut, with two variants expected to arrive within that RM 110,000 to RM 120,000 price band.

Just to sweeten the deal for early birds as well, the first 200 customers (who can secure a spot for just RM 80 by the way) will receive an exclusive ‘LeapX100’ package that promises up to 100x returns by offering either a free wallbox charger or complimentary servicing. What more is that Leapmotor has stated that this will be topped up with a very attractive cash rebate, offering a total value of up to RM 8,000.

Measuring 4,515 mm long, 1,885 mm wide and 1,655 mm tall with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, the B10 is nearly the same size as BYD’s Atto 3. Its general exterior design meanwhile follows the same smooth, minimalist curves seen on the larger C10 sibling.

In terms of powertrain, Leapmotor Malaysia confirms that both variants will feature a single rear motor producing 218 PS and 240 Nm. This setup enables a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 8 seconds, and a V-Max of 170 km/h.

Battery specs will supposedly differ for the Leapmotor B10 in Malaysia, with the base variant packing a 56.2 kWh LFP battery that delivers up to 361 km of WLTP range. The higher-end trim nets a larger 67.1 kWh pack, offering up to 434 km on a single charge.
DC fast charging is rated at 140 kW for the smaller battery and 168 kW for the larger pack, with both achieving a 30 to 80% charge in around 20 minutes. AC charging is capped at 11 kW, with a full charge taking roughly seven or eight hours respectively.

Finally moving within, the B10’s relatively clean and minimalist dashboard is anchored by an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating central infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other interior highlights include a 12-speaker audio system, single-zone climate control, 256-colour ambient lighting, wireless charger, powered tailgate and Oeko-Tex faux leather upholstery.

In terms of safety and driver aids, a comprehensive ADAS suite is expected with the B10. Based on local spy shots however, Malaysian models will not feature the roof-mounted LiDAR sensor available on global models.
What is nevertheless somewhat unique about the B10 (for now at least) is that it will be made in Malaysia. The compact crossover is set to be locally assembled at Stellantis’ Gurun plant, which incidentally will also open the door to the possibility of it sneaking under the RM 100,000 mark when final pricing is revealed next month.
