Honda CR-V e:HEV RS Launch Price Confirmed At RM 195,900

This new electrified flagship variant of Honda’s latest CR-V squeaks in at just below the RM 200k mark.

When Honda launched its latest 6th generation CR-V locally late last year, it had rather coyly left the price of its flagship hybrid variant out for a separate announcement at a later date. Well, it seems that later date is today, as the Japanese automaker has since revealed for the top-tier e:HEV RS trim of this mid-sized SUV will arrive over here costing RM 195,900.

As a refresher, the new CR-V currently retails from RM 159,900 for the 1.5 S 2WD trim. The two other variants available meanwhile with this Honda SUV are the 1.5L E 2WD and 1.5 V AWD, which are priced at RM 169,900 and RM 181,900 respectively.

The CR-V e:HEV RS’ e:HEV powertrain is similar to that currently found in the electrified Civic, which sees a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated Atkinson-cycle four-pot mated to an electric motor and an Electric Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT). Combined output of this powertrain is currently rated at 184 PS and 335 Nm of torque, with Honda also quoting for this SUV to manage the century sprint in a more-than-decent 9.0 seconds and an official fuel consumption figure of 5.0L/100 km (though likely not at the same time).

From the outside, the e:HEV RS trim of CR-V can be most easily differentiated from its other variants by way of its 18-inch Berlina black alloy wheels on its side and an equally black mesh-patterned active shutter grille up front. This electrified Honda SUV also nets LED lights on both ends with front LED sequential turn signals, roof rails, a black shark fin roof antenna and a chromed tailpipe finisher.

Moving on inside meanwhile, highlights exclusive to the the CR-V e:HEV RS includes a 10.2-inch TFT instrument cluster, heads up display, drive mode switch (ECON, Normal, Sport) and a 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System. A Smart Key Card, wireless charging pad, two USB Ports in the front & rear and a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity are also to be available with this top-spec Honda SUV.

On the practicality front now, the 1.06 kWh battery pack of this electrified CR-V does not put a damper on its class-leading 589-litre boot capacity. Honda Malaysia also has equipped this flagship SUV with active cornering lights and an adaptive driving beam, in addition to its 360º surround view camera system, eight airbags (with the inclusion of two knee airbags), Honda LaneWatch, Honda CONNECT and nine Honda SENSING functions.

A full driving impression of this new Honda CR-V is now available for your perusal here, while those who wish to have a deeper dive into the full variant breakdown of what will once again be Malaysia’s best-selling SUV can click here instead.
