1st 100 GWM Tank 300s Has Been Delivered To Malaysian Owners

The first 300 Malaysian Tank 300 customers are entitled to a lifetime engine and transmission warranty.

While it currently holds the title as the best-selling off-roader in its home market of China, it does also appears that the Tank 300 is finding a rather big following over here in Malaysia as well. Such is as within just one month since recent its mid-July local launch, Great Wall Motor (GWM) has announced that it has already delivered the first 100 units of this rugged SUV to customers.

During the GWM Tank 300 vehicle handover event, the 100th Tank 300 customer, Professor Dr. Steven Leow, shared that he was in love with this Chinese Wrangler clone after his first experience in China. “As a car enthusiast, the rugged GWM TANK 300 has caught my attention with its remarkable specifications and technology. I never expected an off-road vehicle to compare its comfort level with a sedan car. This GWM Tank 300 is really beyond my expectations. Not only that, the smart technologies, like L2 ADAS, wireless charging, transparent chassis, really pair into the modern lifestyle needs.”

Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, Cui An Qi, has stated regarding this achievement, “We are delighted for the overwhelming response from the Malaysian customers. This achievement has significantly strengthened our customers’ confidence in our brand and reinforced their support for our top-quality products.”

Now as a gesture of appreciation, GWM Malaysia is currently offering the first 300 owners of the TANK 300 a lifetime warranty on the vehicle’s Engine and Transmission (limited to first-hand owner), 5 years of free service maintenance (including labour & parts) based on every 10,000 kms/6 months interval (whichever comes first). These first 300 owners will also be entitled to a Thule Paramount Backpack worth RM 999, as well as a Thule Adventure Kit Voucher worth RM8,000.

GWM Malaysia has since opened its second station in Alxa Desert for the Go Adventure with GWM TANK program as well, with buyers of this off-roader who have completed their vehicle registration by 12 September 2024 standing a chance to win this adventure trip to the Alxa Desert, one of the world’s most stunning and challenging desert terrains.

The GWM Tank 300 lands locally powered by 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine, which outputs 220 PS and 380 Nm of torque. Drive is meanwhile delivered via a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission and a dual-speed electronically-controlled part-time four-wheel drive system (with selectable 2H, 4H and 4L modes), with its off-roading chops further complemented by electronically-controlled differential locks on both its front and rear axles.

As for the on-road toys on the other hand, the GWM TANK 300 comes equipped with Level 2 Driving Assistance with smart driving assistants including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Highway Assist (HWA). Its surprisingly plush black Nappa leather-lined cabin in turn is highlighted by a twin 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and central infotainment display combo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, 64-colour ambient mood lighting, a 9-speaker INFINITY sound system, in addition to climate controlled and massaging front seats.

This off-road SUV comes fully imported from China, with a comparatively reasonable price tag of RM 250,000. There are currently 4 colour options for this off-roader in Malaysia: Dusk Orange, Fossil Grey, Crystal Black and Pearl White.
