GAC Malaysia Adds Datuk Remy Ishak As Brand Ambassador

Datuk Remy Ishak joins radio host Jack Lim as GAC Malaysia’s expanding brand ambassador lineup.

GAC Malaysia has expanded its brand ambassador lineup with the appointment of award-winning actor and beloved Malaysian personality Datuk Remy Ishak, joining popular entertainer Jack Lim in representing the fast-growing automotive brand. The announcement was made at the GAC & AION Showcase in 1 Utama Shopping Centre this past weekend, marking another milestone for the company as it ramps up its domestic presence ahead of the launch of the second locally-assembled Emkoo C-segment SUV and the fully-imported M8 PHEV MPV.

Remy, best known for his breakout role in the hit TV drama Nurkasih, has long been a household name in Malaysia thanks to his on-screen performances and active public engagements. Over the years, he has represented several high-profile brands, earning a reputation for professionalism, authenticity, and a deep connection with local audiences. These qualities, combined with his charismatic presence, align perfectly with GAC Malaysia’s mission to establish a strong and relatable image in the market.

He now stands alongside Jack Lim, GAC Malaysia’s first ambassador appointed in 2024, under the ONE GAC initiative. Together, the duo embodies the brand’s core traits of refined style, everyday reliability, bold design, and innovation. Warisan TC Holdings Bhd Chief Executive Officer Tan Keng Meng praised both ambassadors for their contributions, noting that Jack has gone beyond the typical role by actively promoting the GS3 Emzoom, leveraging his network to drive sales, and even visiting GAC China to witness the company’s technological advancements. Tan expressed equal enthusiasm for Remy’s addition, highlighting his influence and ability to resonate with Malaysian customers.

Remy himself shared his admiration for GAC’s design language, innovation, and forward-thinking approach, saying that while the brand is relatively new in Malaysia, it has already made a significant impact. He commended its confidence in standing out from the competition and expressed excitement about working with a brand that aligns with his lifestyle and driving preferences.

The event also spotlighted GAC Malaysia’s pre-sales campaign for two upcoming models: Emkoo and M8. The former is the automaker’s answer Toyota Corolla Cross and Chery Omoda 5, and boasts a futuristic design, spacious interior, and self-touted class-leading cargo capacity. Available for pre-booking in Premium and Premium Pro variants, priced from RM 120,000 and RM 130,000 respectively, this C-segment SUV features a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and is covered by a 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty alongside a 7-year/180,000 km engine and powertrain warranty.

The M8 PHEV meanwhile comes amid the growing choice of Chinese Alphard alternatives, but sets itself apart by featuring a PHEV powertrain that consists of a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a two-step hybrid transmission. Estimated pricing stands at RM 333,000 for the Premium variant and RM380,000 for the Luxury, with an 8-year/150,000km battery warranty included.

First customer deliveries of the Emkoo are expected by late September 2025, with both its brand ambassadors Remy and Jack to be among the first Malaysian owners.
