BMW 750e xDrive M Sport Lands Locally Costing RM 699,800

This new hybrid M Sport 7-Series undercuts the all-electric BMW i7 by RM 30,000.

Attention captains of industry and politicians, BMW has recently announced for the 750e xDrive M Sport to finally land locally. And best of all, this new sporty-looking German PHEV luxo-sedan wears a comparatively reasonable price tag of just RM 699,800.

Now while that is perhaps already enough to buy a decent place to live in KL, the price tag attached to this 750e xDrive M Sport is actually comparatively reasonable due to the fact that its all-electric i7 counterpart is some RM 30,000 more expensive. Moreover, said price could go down slightly further if one opted for the standard 2-year warranty in place of the 5-year Extended Warranty and Package included with this RM 699,800 figure.

With the Straight Line Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia too, this 750e xDrive M Sport can be had with a monthly instalment plan starting from just RM8,102.00 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a seven-year tenure). Though if the wallet is understandably tight in these tough times, there is nevertheless always the slightly more affordable Pure Excellence trim of this BMW 7-Series that currently retails for only RM 649,800.

Having said that, the M Sport variant is to be the only one to come with the much-hyped BMW Theatre Screen. A 31.3-inch widescreen display that swings down from the roof of the limo right behind the front seats, this feature is further complemented by the availability of Executive Lounge Seating to better cosset its rear occupants.

Exclusive also to this sporty-looking M Sport over its Pure Excellence counterpart are sportier front and rear bumpers that comes courtesy of the M Sport styling package, 20-inch M aerodynamic style 907 alloys, M high-gloss Shadowline trim, M side sills in high-gloss black and M signature high gloss fine-wood interior trim in Fineline Black with metal effect highlights. This higher end variant nets the upgraded Driving Assistant Plus too, which brings with it Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Speed Limit Info, Automatic Speed Limit Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go as well as autonomous emergency braking.

This luxo-barge features a PHEV powertrain that combines a 3.0 litre turbocharged inline-six with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and a 145 kW electric motor. Total system output is rated at 489 PS and 700 Nm, with this big barge quoted by BMW to be capable of the century sprint in 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h. Feeding the electric motor meanwhile is an under-floor battery pack with a usable capacity of 18.7 kWh, which in turn enables for 87 km of fully-electric range up to a top speed of 140 km/h.

The 750e xDrive M Sport is available locally in Oxide Grey Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic and a variant-exclusive Brooklyn Grey Metallic. Merino leather is meanwhile is standard within, and can be had in either Black or Tartufo hues.
