Bermaz Motor Raises Funds For Charity Through 12th Mazda Golf Tournament

Bermaz Motor held its 12th Mazda Charity Golf Tournament at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club on 9 and 10 October 2026. The two-day event brought together around 200 participants, including business partners, government representatives, Mazda customers and golf enthusiasts.

The tournament supports the Mazda Medicare Fund (MMF), which provides medical assistance and humanitarian support to underprivileged communities across Malaysia.

A charity luncheon took place on 10 October, attended by the Sultan of Pahang, Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. His Royal Highness has served as the fund’s Royal Patron since 2015.

Other attendees included Health Malaysia Director General Datuk Dr Mahathar bin Abdul Wahab, Pahang State Executive Council Member YB Dato Mohamad Nizar bin Dato Sri Mohamad Najib, and Malaysian Investment Development Authority Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid.

During the luncheon, representatives from five beneficiary organisations received symbolic mock cheques.

Five Charities Receive Support

The 2026 beneficiaries are:

  • Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital.
  • Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak Kanak Yatim Dan Cacat Perlindungan Selangor.
  • Pusat Jagaan Anak Anak Yatim Sai Pandian.
  • Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Dan Asnaf Kampung Sijankang.
  • Yayasan Al Sultan Abdullah.

These organisations provide cancer care, welfare assistance and support for children, orphans and other vulnerable groups.

Mazda Medicare Fund’s Wider Work

Established in 2015 through a collaboration between Prima Merdu Sdn Bhd and B. Braun Avitum Renal Services, the MMF initially focused on subsidised haemodialysis treatment. It assists eligible patients with end-stage renal disease who face financial difficulties accessing treatment.

The fund has since expanded its support to elderly homes, orphanages, disability centres and facilities for children with special needs. Beneficiaries undergo evaluations to support transparency and ensure contributions serve charitable purposes.

Bermaz Motor also supports the fund through its Mazda Privilege Card (MPC), introduced in 2018. The card requires a one-time RM100 sign-up fee, which goes directly to the MMF and qualifies for tax exemption through the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).

Cardholders receive a 15% discount on selected Mazda genuine spare parts and a 5% discount on labour charges at Bermaz Motor and Prima Merdu Mazda showrooms and service centres nationwide.

The annual golf tournament and the privilege card provide ongoing funding channels for the MMF. Bermaz Motor continues to use these initiatives to support medical treatment and welfare programmes across Malaysia.
