Allianz Road Rangers Ready For Roadside Assists This Hari Raya

Over 300 tow trucks are currently on standby nationwide to assist in any motoring maladies this Hari Raya.

With Hari Raya right around the corner, many Malaysians have expectedly been making the trek back to their kampungs in order to spend this festive season with their loved ones. Unfortunately however, there will inevitably be some of those who may be unlucky enough to encounter either some motoring maladies along the way.

Handily however, those who hold comprehensive motor insurance policies with Allianz General can balik kampung with greater peace of mind, as its Allianz Road Rangers are currently out in force this Hari Raya. Be it an accident or a breakdown, its fleet of over 300 tow trucks — currently stationed nationwide at strategic locations that are accessible to major highways — are just one call away to extend a helping hand.

The Allianz Road Rangers provides comprehensive roadside assistance, including quick repairs if possible or towing to an accredited workshop for various vehicle segments, including Private Cars, Motorcycles, Goods-Carrying Vehicles, and Electric Vehicles (EV). These benefits are subject to the entitlements and terms and conditions outlined in the policy. In the event of an accident, Motor Comprehensive policyholders can avoid touts and dubious workshops by calling 1-800-22-5542 for end-to-end insurance service.

Last year, there were a total of 12,407 road accidents reported during Ops Selamat 20 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period. The total number of deaths recorded was 146 compared to 145 from the year before.

Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (“Allianz General”) CEO Sean Wang said, “Safety is paramount and this should always be the first thing on our minds as we plan our balik kampung journey. We have more than 3 million motor policies and it is important that we are able to provide them with the best assistance and services, especially in their times of need.  Our Road Rangers will be deployed at various locations to provide the necessary roadside assistance.”

“While we are prepared on our end, I hope road users will take the necessary precautions to ensure that they safely reach their destinations for Hari Raya. On behalf of Allianz General, I would like to wish all Malaysians Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.” continued Sean.

And just on the topic of precautions that should be taken by road users before the long trek back, here are some basic checks anyone can do to ensure that their vehicle is ready for the balik kampung journey ahead:

  1. Ensure that the vehicle has been serviced and is good to drive through to your destination and back.
  2. Inflate the vehicle’s tyres according to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer.
  3. Check to see if the vehicle’s tyres have a sufficient thread for long-distance driving, or get it checked by a mechanic.
  4. Ensure no warning lights appear on the vehicle’s dashboard, or bring it to a trusted workshop if there are. Also, ensure that the battery water has been topped up sufficiently.
  5. And most importantly, make sure the driver get enough sleep and rest before embarking on a long journey.

Selamat Hari Raya!
