All-Electric Porsche Macan Launched Locally From RM 430,000
There are currently 4 variants of the Porsche Macan available: Macan, Macan 4, Macan 4S and Macan Turbo.
In what has only been a short while since its initial international debut, Porsche has since recently unveiled its all-electric Macan locally. 4 variants of this e-SUV are currently available locally, with the prices starting at a rather attractive RM 430,000.
The prices for the four variants available over here are as follows:
- Macan: RM 430,000
- Macan 4: RM 445,000
- Macan 4S: RM 525,000
- Macan Turbo: RM 635,000
Propulsion in the base Macan comes courtesy of a single rear-mounted motor, while all other variants bring to the party an additional motor up front. All trim levels of this Porsche e-SUV available over here feature a 100 kWh (gross, 95 kWh usable) lithium-nickel manganese cobalt battery pack, which is touted to yield up to 641 km of zero-emissions driving on a single charge in its most efficient guise.
All Macans further come as standard with an AC and DC charging capability of up to 11 kW and 270 kW respectively, courtesy of the 800-volt architecture of its Premium Platform Electric (PPE). Its high-voltage battery has been claimed to charge from 10 to 80% within around 21 minutes at a suitable fast-charging station, while a slow charge from flat to full from a wallbox will take around 10 hours.
Here is a more detailed breakdown of the performance specs for each variant of the Macan launched locally:

In continuing just a little more on what lies under the skin of this new Macan too, this Porsche mid-sized could be optioned for the first time ever with rear-axle steering and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). The higher-end 4S and Turbo in turn come as standard with dual-valve air suspension, as well as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive dampers.
An admittedly more blobby exterior aesthetic than its predecessor, Porsche nevertheless wishes to highlight that all these new curves help to see for this Macan be one of the most streamlined SUVs on the market today. Its staggeringly low drag coefficient figure of just 0.25 is to be helped along by the various active and passive elements of the Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) package, which includes active cooling flaps on the front air intakes, air curtains below the headlight module, flexible covers on the fully sealed underbody, an adaptive rear spoiler, as well as gurney flaps and a diffuser blade on its lower rear.
This new Macan incidentally measures 58 mm longer than its ICE predecessor, at 4,786 mm. It is also to be 76.2 mm taller at 1,671 mm and a full 224 mm wider at 2,151 mm, but interestingly for an EV, its wheelbase of 2,893 mm is 86 mm shorter than the outgoing petrol-powered model.
Moving on within, Porsche has refreshingly kept the interior aesthetic of this new Macan rather traditional. The Macan therefore follows on from design and layout currently observed in the refreshed Cayenne and Panamera, with its dashboard headlined by a 10.9-inch central infotainment display running Android Automotive OS, a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional 10.9-inch passenger screen.
As for practicality, this Porsche e-SUV can swallow up to 540 litres worth of stuff in its rump, which can then be increased to 1,348 litres when the rear seats are folded down. There is also to be a ‘frunk’ under the Macan’s bonnet, with a capacity of 84 litres.
Additional standard options available for would-be Macan owners in Malaysia includes features such as Power Steering Plus, electrically-opening charging cover, a 360º surround view camera including Active Parking Support, four-zone climate control, a 230 V power outlet in the luggage compartment and a premium BOSE Surround Sound System. An optional off-road design package is also available for all variants, which Porsche touts will further improve the everyday usability of this e-SUV.
All variants of the Macan come with an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty, with there being an option to extend coverage up to 15 years through Porsche Malaysia.
Since 2014, Porsche has delivered more than 800,000 examples of the Macan worldwide. It is currently aiming to continue this success story with this all-electric successor, which is produced in a net carbon neutral way at the Porsche Plant Leipzig.
