Chery Malaysia Recalls Car Over Rear Axle Issue
Older Omoda 5 C & H Models To Be Recalled with Newer Versions Unaffected

Chery Malaysia has announced recalls for the Omoda 5 C and H variants due to an incident where the SUV’s rear axle disconnected while driving.
The company has been in close cooperation with relevant local authorities and regulatory bodies, including the Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ), over the past few days.
This issue only applies to the older Omoda 5 model as newer models like the Chery 05 and the Omoda E5 models have upgraded rear suspension systems which prevents this problem entirely. In conjunction with JPJ’s arrangements, Chery Malaysia will launch a recall campaign to inspect affected OMODA5 (C&H) models and replace them if necessary.
For those who are unsure if this applies to their vehicle, they can enter their vehicle identification number (VIN) on the Chery Malaysia official website to check if their vehicle is involved in the recall campaign.
If you have been affected by this, you can receive a free comprehensive vehicle inspection and necessary follow-up measures, including replacement of related parts. It is also encouraged for any OMODA 5 vehicle owners who wish to gain peace of mind to visit the official Chery service centre where their technical team is ready to assist
