Eurotech Wheel Rebrands as ETG With Plans to Expand Production

Eurotech Wheel, the Malaysian importer of KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles, GASGAS and ZONTES, has rebranded as ETG, short for Eurotech Group, as it prepares for its next stage of growth in Malaysia.

The new name reflects the company’s expanding operations, which now cover motorcycle assembly and distribution, international brand representation, dealer and after-sales support, rider development and community activities.

ETG’s local assembly operations date back to 2012, when the company established Southeast Asia’s first KTM CKD assembly plant. By 2016, its operations had expanded to include both CKD and CBU production.

The company subsequently expanded its motorcycle portfolio. ZONTES entered the Malaysian market through Eurotech Wheel in 2019 with the 310 Series, followed by Husqvarna Motorcycles in 2021 and GASGAS in 2022.

ETG has also expanded its involvement in rider development. The KTM Asian Riders’ Academy Offroad was launched in 2022, followed by other rider academies, gatherings and community programmes.

As part of its next phase, ETG plans to significantly increase its production capacity. Its factory currently has a monthly production capacity of more than 4,000 units. Following the planned expansion, this is expected to increase to more than 15,000 units per month.

The company is also targeting a larger nationwide dealer and service network, with plans for 73 dealers and 57 service centres across Malaysia. More than 100 new technical specialists are expected to be trained over the next two years to increase servicing and technical support capacity.

ETG will introduce a new Dealer Management System to improve coordination between the Group and its dealers, particularly for after-sales support. The system will target turnaround times of 60 minutes for common faulty parts and 24 hours for uncommon faulty parts.

The Group also plans to roll out ETG Experience Showrooms across Malaysia, with the first locations planned for the northern, central and southern regions.

The rebranding brings the company’s various operations under the ETG name as it expands its production capabilities, dealer network and after-sales support while continuing to represent its existing motorcycle brands in Malaysia.
