Volvo EX90 is the Newest Evolution Of The Volvo Brand

Volvo Car Malaysia redefined true luxury today with the official launch of their fully electric 7-seater flagship SUV, the evolved Volvo EX90. Assembled locally in Shah Alam, the EX90 marks not just Volvo’s assurance in delivering premium, electrified mobility, but also a reckoning with what confident, quiet luxury affords: the freedom to evolve.

The evolved, fully electric Volvo EX90 is available for viewing at all authorised dealers nationwide starting today, priced from RM428,888 without insurance. To reward early commitments in the new flagship SUV, the launch offers an RM25,000 in cash rebate and a Volvo Wallbox worth RM3,990, exclusively to the first 100 units booked.

Safety from the Inside Out

The evolved EX90 upholds the marquee’s commitment as Volvo’s safest car yet – and to remain so as it evolves and advances throughout its lifetime. Driving this progress is Volvo Car Malaysia’s Selamat philosophy, grounded in the belief that road safety is a shared responsibility, and Volvo’s longstanding role as a pioneer in automotive safety.

Anchoring this promise is Volvo’s Safe Space Technology, a sophisticated suite of the latest active safety system, designed to help create a safe space in and around cars for a SELAMAT journey. A seamless, highly responsive sensor setup comprised of radars, sensors and ultrasonic sensors that work in perfect tandem for real-time, high-precision view of the surroundings during the drive.

Inside, a standard-setting two IR sensors makes up an intuitive Driver Understanding System that helps detect distraction and impairment and, combined with external sensor data, gauges the driver’s state of mind and intervenes when necessary. Additionally, interior radars make up a full-cabin Occupant Sensing System that can sense submillimetre scale movements, such as the soft breathing of a life, to ensure that no loved one is left behind.

The evolved flagship SUV is also equipped with Volvo’s latest advanced driver assistance systems, which offer unprecedented levels and improvement of driver support and collision avoidance functions. In addition to Volvo’s tried-and-true standard safety functions, these also include the next-generation Pilot Assist and Park Pilot Assist.

The Evolved Flagship Architecture

Built for the future of electric mobility, the new Volvo EX90 embodies an evolved vision of the fully electric SUV, where advanced electrification, quiet luxury, and refined engineering come together – underpinned by an upgraded 800-volt electric system. Combined with a Twin Motor All-wheel-Drive powertrain, the evolved EX90 delivers a commanding 680 hp and 870 Nm of torque, effortlessly dispatches the 0-100km/h sprint in just 4.2 seconds.

The upgraded 800V architecture not only reduces overall weight and heat generation during charging but also improves sustainability through a lower copper dependency while delivering more power for faster acceleration.

Powered by a 106-kWh battery, the evolved EX90 offers up to 617km of electric driving range in a single charge.  When charging, the 800V architecture works with an ultra-fast 350kW DC capacity and Volvo’s battery management software to ensure downtime is minimal. The result is a highly efficient flagship SUV that gives both superior performance and a refined drive without disrupting the hushed tranquillity of the cabin.

Intelligent Technology Made to Get Better with You

Building on its legacy as Volvo’s first born-electric and software-defined SUV, the evolved EX90 is now powered by a NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin-based core computer with a high-level of computation to manage functionalities – such as active safety feature, car sensors, and efficient battery management – as well as orchestrate various essential systems and processes inside the car at incredible speeds.

Underpinning the evolved EX90’s hardware and software modules is Volvo’s state-of-the-art Superset technology stack, enabling more efficient and regular over-the air updates. These updates can introduce new features and further enhancements across the software-driven SUV, from infotainment and battery management to safety and driving performance.

The evolved EX90 also features an intuitive, simple and ultra-fast infotainment system with built-in Google Services including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and access to a wide range of apps via Google Play Store. Adding to an immersive and refined experience is a Bowers and Wilkins High Fidelity Audio System and a seamless interface that keeps essential information in within view across a 9-inch driver display, a 14.5-inch centre display and a head-up display.

Conscious, Premium Scandinavian Design

As Volvo’s fully electric premium SUV, the evolved EX90 carries a distinctive and sophisticated flush design that reflects Scandinavian design principles where form follows function. The flush glazing and rounded front and rear overhands create a sleek, aerodynamic form for uninterrupted air flow to optimize performance and range.

The interior of the evolved EX90 creates a sensory experience designed around comfort and well-being. An advanced electrochromic roof allows the flow of natural light and cabin temperature to be adjusted at the touch of a button. Ventilated Nappa leather upholstery is complemented by tactile, natural wood elements, adding warmth and a touch of nature to the cabin. The interior is available in two distinctive expressions: Charcoal Nappa leather with Light Ash decor or Cardamom Nappa leather with Brown Ash.
