On September 2, FAW Hongqi announced that its all-new Hongqi H7 plug-in hybrid sedan has officially launched a Guinness World Records challenge for “the longest distance driven by a production plug-in hybrid sedan on a full tank of fuel and a full battery charge without any additional energy replenishment.”
The challenge route spans three provinces—Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guangdong—and will be conducted entirely under standard production conditions, without any support from closed test tracks.
The Hongqi H7 will have to go over 2,608.360 km to beat the record set by the Geely Galaxy A7 EM just three months ago.The vehicle will face complex driving conditions including high temperatures, rainfall, continuous uphill climbs, and urban traffic congestion.
The model opened for pre-orders in August 2026 and is available in three variants: – The 180 Intelligent Hybrid version, with a pre-sale price of RMB 191,800 (RM116,000) and an introductory offer of RMB 181,800 (RM109,000); – The 240 Intelligent Hybrid version, priced at RMB 206,800 (RM125,000) pre-sale (introductory offer: RMB 196,800 [RM120,000] ); – The 210 AWD Intelligent Hybrid version, with a price of RMB 231,800 (RM140,000) pre-sale (introductory offer: RMB 221,800 [RM134000] ).
The vehicle measures 5,060 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,970 mm. It is powered by the Honghu Hybrid System, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 240 km and a combined range of 1,954 km.
Under WLTC conditions, its fuel consumption in charge-depleting mode is 4.4 L/100 km. The AWD variant produces a combined output of 479 kW and peak torque of 871 N·m, achieving a 100–0 km/h braking distance of just 35.8 meters.

- Executive Interior: The modern cockpit includes a floating central touchscreen, a high-contrast digital display, concealed air vents, and headrest-mounted speakers. The rear cabin functions as an executive lounge with premium materials like open-pore wood and soft leather.

Before its modern PHEV rebirth, the first-generation H7 built the brand’s reputation for premium executive transport:
