Facelifted Honda City Now Open For Booking In Malaysia

This second facelift for the City is set to launch over here within the next couple of months.
While Honda may not be on track to post its strongest sales numbers this year, it will nevertheless soon have something that might give its sales numbers a good boost towards year-end. Such is the case as, shortly after its reveal in India, the newly updated Honda City has now since been confirmed for Malaysia!
Already open for pre-bookings, this second facelift for the City comes after the first update in 2023 and roughly seven years since this generation initially debuted in 2019. And this latest refresh brings with it a sleeker new face… as well as a rather less sleek dashboard redesign.

Now, the biggest change with this facelift is undoubtedly the City’s brasher new front fascia. A sharper ‘Blade-Eye’ light bar now visually connects the headlamp clusters, while sitting beneath it is a near-full-width grille paired with a slimmer, sportier-looking front bumper design.
The side profile meanwhile remains largely untouched, save for a fresh set of wheel designs. Round the back too, Honda has similarly opted against major changes, with the only notable revision being a redesigned rear bumper featuring a large mesh centre section to continue the sporty look introduced up front.

Though where it does seem that Honda’s designers have more or less given up on this redesign is on the inside, as evidenced by them simply plonking a new 10.1-inch central touchscreen roughly into the hole where the previous flush-mounted unit once sat. It should be added however that they have at least attempted to jazz up the existing dashboard with the inclusion of ambient lighting, which shines through a new 3D-patterned trim piece and is further complemented by footwell illumination.

To its credit too, Honda has upped the safety kit for the City, with a new Multi-View Camera System (which is Honda’s fancy way of saying 360° view camera) now available. All variants further feature Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitoring System, to complement the full Honda Sensing suite, comprising:
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Low Speed Follow (LSF)
- Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
Finally, as for the engine options, these appear to remain unchanged from the pre-facelift model. This thus means that the City will continue with the usual 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engines across most of the range, producing 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque, with the e hybrid setup continuing to sit at the top of the local lineup.

Pricing-wise, Honda has yet to reveal how much the facelifted City will cost. For reference though, the outgoing model is currently priced between RM84,900 and RM111,900… before taking into account the rather substantial discounts Honda is currently offering.
What Honda has nevertheless revealed is that, as part of the City pre-booking campaign, it is offering a RM3,000 Early Bird Reward for customers who place their bookings between 27 August and 30 September 2026. And to mark the Merdeka Day celebrations alongside its “One Nation, Shared Rewards” campaign, Malaysians can also check out the New City Pop-up Store at designated locations.
