Audi Q5 & Q5 Sportback Launched In Malaysia From RM 354,223

The local launch of this third-gen Audi Q5 comes just shy of two years since its global introduction.
After a good two years since its initial global debut, Audi has finally deemed its third-generation Q5 ready for a Malaysian launch. This latest iteration of the four-ringed mid-sized SUV is available in two body styles and variants: the boxier Q5 Advanced and the swoopier Q5 Sportback S line.

Visually, this new era of Q5 adopt a slightly more rounded, almost catfish-like front end compared to the sharper Audis of the Iron Man era. Still, both variants in Malaysia come well-equipped with matrix LED headlamps featuring customisable digital light signatures, along with LED lights round its rump. The Sportback S line further adds a comic book-esque touch too, with its rear projection brake lights capable of projecting a warning signal onto the rear window to alert following motorists.

Under the hood, the Q5 Advanced is powered by a familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged four-pot delivering 199 PS and 340 Nm, sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The sportier Q5 Sportback S line meanwhile ups the ante with 272 PS and 400 Nm from the same displacement, with its quattro all-wheel-drive system distributing power to all four wheels through the same gearbox.
The Q5 Advanced rides on 19-inch 10-spoke aero wheels in a two-tone finish, beneath which sits a more comfort-oriented suspension setup. The Q5 Sportback S line, on the other hand, gets a sportier S line suspension paired with a larger set of 20-inch double five-spoke wheels.

Moving along inside, both variants feature a combination of leather and artificial leather upholstery, paired with Lime Sediment natural silver-grey inlays. The Sportback S line further enhances the cabin with electrically adjustable and ventilated front sports seats, a flat-bottom sports steering wheel, black headlining, Carbon Micro Twill inlays, as well as stainless steel pedals and footrest.

On the tech front, both Q5 models come equipped with an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch OLED MMI panoramic display, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional highlights include the Digital Key feature for smartphone-based access, Audi Connect services, and an in-car Audi Assistant powered by ChatGPT.

Audiophiles may gravitate towards the Sportback S line’s Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system, while the lower-spec Advanced variant makes do with the standard Audi sound system. Both models include a wireless charging pad with adaptive cooling and four USB-C ports, with the Sportback S line also featuring higher-output ports (two 60W at the front and two 100W at the rear).
Driver assistance systems for both variants include adaptive cruise control, park assist with parking system plus, and Audi Drive Select. The Q5 Sportback S line further adds a head-up display.

Finally on pricing, on pricing, the Q5 Advanced is listed at RM 371,223 with the Audi Assurance five-year warranty and servicing package. Those willing to forgo the extended coverage can opt for a lower starting price of RM 354,223 with the standard two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
Similarly, the Q5 Sportback S line 2.0 TFSI quattro is priced from RM 440,223 with Audi Assurance. Though a RM17,000 saving is available if opting just for the standard 24-month, unlimited mileage warranty instead.

The Q5 Advanced is available in Grenadine Red, Tambora Grey, Navarra Blue, Mythos Black, and Glacier White. The Q5 Sportback S line adds a bit more flair with options including District Green, Grenadine Red, Daytona Grey pearl effect, Mythos Black, and Glacier White.
