Mercedes-Benz Partners P.UP For Local On-Demand EV Charging

This convenient charging service is however only available to those who subscribed to the MB Platinum 5 plan.
Mercedes-Benz EV owners in Malaysia can now enjoy driving free from any range anxiety, as the three-pointed star marque has recently partnered with Power-Up (P.UP) by Nazamax Malaysia to roll out an on-demand mobile charging service. The collaboration guarantees EQ customers convenient access to power, with a charge capable of being delivered directly to their home, workplace, or virtually any location they need.
Available exclusively through the MB Platinum 5 plan, this service deploys specially equipped vans carrying 120 kWh DC fast chargers. Customers simply book a session via the P.UP mobile app, after which the van will arrive at the chosen destination to recharge their vehicle. Best of all, the process does not require the owner to be present, allowing for effortless top-ups while they go about their day.
According to Edmin Naidoo, Vice President of Customer Services at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia & SEA II, the partnership underlines the brand’s mission to go beyond vehicles and enhance the entire EV ownership journey. “As we progress towards advancing electric mobility in Malaysia, we are committed to providing not just cutting-edge vehicles, but also service solutions that meet evolving customer needs, while contributing to the national EV goals of expanding charging accessibility,” he explained.
SM Fauzi Dato Hj SM Shalahuddin, CEO of P.UP Nazamax Malaysia, meanwhile added that the feedback from EQ customers has been overwhelmingly positive, with strong demand encouraging plans to expand the service nationwide.
The mobile charging initiative was first piloted in Penang back in September 2024, before making its way to the Klang Valley with three mobile vans. Johor Bahru is set to follow in the first quarter of 2026, while full coverage across Peninsular Malaysia is expected by the second half of the same year.
The MB Platinum 5 plan offers subscribers five mobile charging sessions per month, each capable of recharging the battery up to 80% state-of-charge. Each session also comes with complimentary extras such as car hand washing, interior vacuuming, tyre shine, and up to RM 5 in free service fees and parking. Customers can opt for subscription packages lasting 1, 6, or 12 months depending on their usage needs.
Beyond this latest partnership, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also been actively building a wider charging ecosystem by collaborating with premium hotels nationwide to install charging stations. Owners of these three-pointed star EVs can further enjoy curated privileges and tailored lifestyle benefits at these partner hotels, simply by presenting their Mercedes-Benz Card or app at check-in.
