Sunmax Petroleum Takes Delivery Of 8 New UD Quester Lorries

The newly-delivered UD fleet consists of 4 Quester CWEs, and two each of Quester GWEs and GKEs. 

UD Trucks and Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) have recently delivered 8 new units of UD Quester heavy-duty trucks to Sunmax Petroleum Sdn Bhd (Sunmax). The vehicle handover event held at Sunmax’s headquarters in Lukut, Negeri Sembilan.

The newly-delivered fleet consists of four Quester CWE models, and two each of Quester GWE and GKE models, specifically designated for diesel and fuel transportation across Peninsular Malaysia. The Quester CWE and GWE models feature a 6×4 axle configuration with horsepower ranging from 330 to 440, while the Quester GKE model is a 4×2 axle configuration with 390 horsepower. 

Each truck is powered by the 11-litre GH11E engine, designed for optimal torque output and fuel efficiency at low engine speeds. Additionally, the fleet is equipped with 9- and 12-speed gearboxes, full air brake systems, and auxiliary engine brake systems to ensure maximum performance and safety.

Steve Hedouin, Managing Director Hub Malaysia, UD Trucks, expressed his enthusiasm about Sunmax’s decision to integrate the Quester models into its fleet. “UD Trucks is truly honoured that Sunmax has chosen the heavy-duty Quester models to support its growing business. This investment in Quester will undoubtedly bolster Sunmax’s productivity and enhance the quality of service they provide to their customers.”

Siow Wee Chuan, Managing Director of Sunmax Petroleum Sdn Bhd, expressed excitement about the addition of Quester trucks to their fleet. “We are excited about the addition of Quester trucks as this marks the beginning of our journey with UD Trucks. Being in the fuel supply and transportation business, our decision was guided by factors including efficiency, performance, dependability, and safety. Siow also emphasised the company’s growth ambitions, stating, “With the delivery of the vehicles now completed, we look forward to deploying the new Quester trucks for maximum efficiency and productivity. We anticipate that these trucks will help us achieve our operational goals by reducing fuel consumption and costs while delivering better service to our clients through greater uptime and enhanced performance.”

Established in 2019, Sunmax specialises in the wholesale and transportation of petrol, diesel, and lubricants, with a strong focus on supplying fuel and diesel to bunker ships.

All the Quester trucks delivered to Sunmax are integrated with UD Connected Services, a state-of-the-art fleet management system designed to enhance operational efficiency.
