CKD Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe Launched Locally

This first-ever locally-assembled electrified Porsche Cayenne is now available from RM 728,000.

Following its successful export to Thailand last year, Porsche has finally decided that the time is ripe to introduce the Malaysian-assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe in the country where it was put together. This electrified Stuggart stallion SUV is incidentally to be the second CKD model after the base Cayenne, with it to arrive over here wearing a price tag that starts from RM 728,000.

Now as the name suggests, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe expectedly packs an electrified powertrain under the hood. Powering this Porsche is to be a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 that outputs 353 PS (349 hp or 260 kW) and 500 Nm of torque, as well as an electric motor that churns out another 130 kW and 460 Nm of twist.

Combined power output for this PHEV powertrain currently stands at 519 PS and 750 Nm of torque, which Porsche quotes to be sufficient of sending this Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, before eventually topping out at 263 km/h. Thanks to a 25.9 kWh battery as well, this electrified SUV can apparently go up to a WLTP-rated 90 km without kickstarting the V6.

Moving on to its exterior meanwhile, the Coupe in its name naturally signifies that this particular variant of Porsche SUV will feature a swoopier silhouette than the regular Cayenne. Its sloping roofline is to be complemented up front by the standard HD Matrix LED headlights, while its stock 20-inch Cayenne S Design wheels in Vesuvius Grey hide behind it a new adaptive air suspension system that incorporates Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with two-chamber, two-valve technology.

As for the cabin of the CKD Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe, a new 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen are now a standard part of the new Porsche Driver Experience in this SUV. For the first time too, a GT Sports steering wheel and the Sport Chrono package with Porsche Design clock are included as standard features.

This premium SUV further comes as standard with a premium BOSE Surround Sound System, two choices of smooth-finish leather upholstery (Black or Bordeaux Red) with Porsche crests on the front headrests, four-zone climate control, an interior air quality ioniser, 14-way adjustable comfort seats with memory package and electric roll-up sunblinds for the rear side windows.

Porsche is also keen to highlight that the various assistance systems in the CKD Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe have been enhanced with convenient technology features like Adaptive Cruise Control, ParkAssist including Surround View and Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay. Passengers are to be treated to a premium occupant experience with Rear Seat Entertainment pre-wiring available as standard as well, though the installation of two rear screens on said pre-wiring are unfortunately an optional extra.

The CKD Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé is currently available in a choice of three exterior hues: Carrara White Metallic, Chromite Black Metallic and Dolomite Silver Metallic.

“Since establishing our local assembly facility in Malaysia in 2022, Porsche has reached several key milestones that highlight the importance of this market. In just one year, more than 1,000 locally assembled Cayennes have been delivered to Malaysian customers, a clear indication of the strong demand and the trust placed in the Porsche brand,” said Mr. Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

“In 2024, we marked another significant achievement with the launch of the first regionally assembled Cayenne for Thailand, reinforcing our commitment to becoming a strong assembly partner to Porsche in this region. Building on this momentum, we are excited to launch a second model, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé in Malaysia for our customers,” Mr Hunter continued.
