This lightly-updated i4 eDrive35 M Sport lands locally with a price tag of RM 315,600 (inclusive 5-year BMW warranty).
Alongside the local debut of its 530i M Sport, BMW Malaysia has recently also launched a mildly-refreshed version of its i4. Arriving over here in eDrive35 M Sport guise for the time being, this lightly-refreshed all-electric four-door coupe brings with it a few visual updates and a more generous set of standard equipment.
Differentiating this updated i4 from its predecessor on the outside starts with a redesigned BMW kidney grille, which feature a modern criss-cross inlay design borrowed from the iX. This mild-refresh also brings with to this four-door coupe some slightly revised Adaptive LED headlights accented with blue elements, a new staggered set of 19-inch aerodynamic M wheels in 996M Bicolour and similarly new pair of taillights that now incorporate Laserlight technology previously reserved for the M models.
Moving along inside meanwhile, this M Sport variant of refreshed i4 has been graced with new flat-bottom three-spoke sports steering wheel and new black M PerformTex upholstery with M piping that pays tribute to the model’s motorsport heritage. BMW anoraks might notice too that there are to be some slight revisions made to the cabin controls and air vents, with the latter now incidentally illuminate along with the standard interior ambient lighting.
As for what lies under the skin now, this updated i4 is to actually be identical to what came before. To that end therefore, this particular eDrive35 M Sport variant still features a rear-mounted electric motor that is rated at 286 PS and 400 Nm of torque, that is supposedly capable of shuffling this four-door fastback from 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds, before eventually running out of puff at 190 km/h.
In going from discussing km/h to km, this refreshed i4 eDrive35 M Sport continues to pack the same of 70.3 kWh LFP battery pack from before, which WLTP quotes will see this BMW go 500 km on a single charge. Charging with the 11 kW onboard AC charger will take 8.25 hours, while a 10-80% top up at its 180 kW DC fast charging peak can be achieved in just 32 minutes.
Now among the standard kit included within the i4 eDrive35 M Sport are a BMW Curved Display (which consists of a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen), a heads up display, Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite M trim, IconicSounds Electric and Comfort Access. This all-electric BMW also comes with a bevy of active driver aids like Attentiveness Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality, Parking Assistant Plus and Driving Assistant.
This refreshed i4 eDrive35 M Sport lands locally with two new exterior colour options (Cape York Green and Fire Red) added to its existing palette, which consists of Alpine White, Mineral White, Black Sapphire, M Portimao Blue and M Brooklyn Grey.
