Volkswagen Golf Fan Fest 2024 Aims To Enter The Record Books

Volkswagen Malaysia aims to celebrate 50 years of Golf with a record breaking gathering at Sepang.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has recently announced that it intends to mark the 50th birthday of the Golf in a record-breaking way, as it aims to enter the Malaysia Book of Records with what could be the largest gathering of Volkswagen Golf owners and enthusiasts in the country, during the upcoming 2024 Golf Fan Fest

To be held on the 24th August 2024 (Saturday), VPCM touts that Sepang International Circuit will be transformed to host a spectrum of fun-filled activities, and Golf owners and fans around the nation are invited!

Now among the activities organised on the day of the Golf Fan Fest will include a list of driving activities, including gymkhana driving challenge competition, Golf R drift taxi rides and track sessions. A showcase on the evolution of this iconic German hatchback over its past five decades is also expected to draw the interest of fans.

Test drives and demos for all Volkswagen models are open throughout the day, alongside tech talks and workshops covering various aspects of Golf ownership. Eight finalists of Volkswagen’s Biggest Golf Fan contest meanwhile, which was held on social media over the past one month, will be competing for the Grand Prize and title of country’s biggest Golf fan during the celebrations as well.

The successor of another equally popular VW icon, the Golf is really a car that needs no introduction. With more than 37 million vehicles delivered in over 70 countries since the first iteration launched back in 1974, it is one of the most successful cars ever produced. It is therefore only befitting that the 50th anniversary of such a well-loved icon is celebrated with Volkswagen fans and friends, near and far.

Currently in Malaysia, the only two flavours of the Golf offered here are to be the hot GTI and even hotter R. Both of these hot hatches are locally assembled right here in Pekan, with the former retailing at RM 252,990, while the latter is going for RM 332,900.
