Honda HR-V launched in Malaysia with four variants
Honda Malaysia have launched the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V. This new model comes with loads of improvements and new features. It is a direct upgrade to the previous model.
The Honda HR-V has always been one of the most popular compact SUVs in Malaysia. Previous models of the HR-V have gone to sell incredibly well. The new catch about the 2022 model is that Honda is offering four variants to choose from. Not only that, those four variants include three powertrain options – – 1.5L e:HEV, 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged and 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC. This includes one standard engine, turbocharged engine and hybrid powertrain.
The four new variants of the Honda HR-V include the Honda HR-V S, Honda HR-V Turbo E, Honda HR-V Turbo V and Honda HR-V e:HEV RS.
For powertrain options, the V and E variants have the powertrain option of 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged Engine which can deliver 181PS and 240Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the RS, V and E variants will be offered with a drive mode option of NORMAL, SPORT, and ECON, which can be switched easily with Drive Mode Selector. The S variant of the All-New HR-V will be equipped with 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine producing 121PS and maximum torque of 145Nm.
As for the exterior of the new HR-V, the looks and design are completely new and really tell is apart from its predecessor. The front appearance is dominant with a New Sporty Front Grille Design while the rear is further elevated with a bold design comprising LED Taillight Strip. The attractive aesthetics of this new model consist of Front LED Sequential Turn Signals, Full LED Headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Front LED Fog Lights¹ and 18-inch Sporty Alloy Wheels complete the new look of the All-New HR-V.
The interior is also now more modern and comfortable than before. New features for the RS variant will include leather upholstery, Sports Pedals, Dual Zone Auto Air Conditioning and Deceleration Selector Paddle. Meanwhile, the RS, V and E variants features 7-inch Interactive TFT Meter Cluster and 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity.
Like all the recent Honda releases, the HR-V also comes with Honda Sensing safety features and Honda LaneWatch. The Honda Sensing comes with the following:
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Low Speed Follow (LSF)
- Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)

For those interested in buying the new HR-V, you will have to make a booking quick. Some people have already predicted that the waiting list for the Honda HR-V will be as long as a year. Honda have also targeted to sell 1,600 units a month, but due to its popularity the waiting list will still stay long.
