Aston Martin To Celebrate Its 110th Birthday In Style In Tokyo

110 Aston Martins will convene at Tokyo’s Senso-ji temple for a world first Concours d’Elegance there.

Aston Martin turns 110 this year. And to celebrate this momentous occasion, the British supercar marque has decided to throw a big do in Japan.

Yes much like any other British teenager looking to celebrate their birthday in an exotic locale, Aston Martin has recently announced that it will be hosting its inaugural Aston Martin Arcadia event in Tokyo this year. Running from the 17th to the 19th of November, this three-day event will see the British supercar marque host a Concours d’Elegance at the Senso-ji temple right in the heart of the Japanese metropolis, before holding a track day event at Fuji Speedway.

According to Aston Martin, its Concours d’Elegance will be the world’s first to be held at the temple of Kinryuzan Senso-ji. The oldest place of worship in Tokyo with a history dating back to 628 AD, this temple in Asakusa will serve as the locale for 110 of the automaker’s most unique and prized models to be publicly displayed from the 17th of November till the morning of the 18th of November.

The 110 cars on display will apparently include limited editions from the company’s own headquarters in Gaydon, in addition to ‘the prized collections of passionate Aston Martin owners from across the Asia Pacific region’. Among the lineup of vehicles confirmed to be present from the manufacturer’s own collection include the upcoming Valhalla, a replica of its 2023 Aston Martin F1 car, the open-top DBR22, as well as the DB5 Goldfinger Continuation.

In addition to the Concours d’Elegance meanwhile, a Gala Dinner, charity auction, and a track day event at Fuji Speedway will also be taking place across the three-day celebratory event. In the spirit of Aston Martin’s history of models with mythological names, the event has been christened ARCADIA, a version of paradise in Ancient Greece.

Said gala dinner and charity auction will be held at the Fuji Speedway Hotel, with only a limited number of Aston Martin’s owners from across Japan and other countries within the wider Asia Pacific region to be invited. The track day meanwhile is open to the public, and is touted to be the largest ever Aston Martin track gathering in the Asia-Pacific region. The event will begin with a grid walk, followed by a driving session for each category. A museum of vintage vehicles is also planned for the pit lane.

PRESS RELEASE: The inaugural ASTON MARTIN ARCADIA, an extraordinary biennial event designed to bring together Aston Martin owners from across the Asia Pacific region will take place in Japan from Friday 17 November to Sunday 19 November 2023.

2023 marks 110 years since founder Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford officially formed the partnership that went on to create the first Aston Martin car, igniting more than a century of ultra-luxury high performance sports cars, cutting-edge innovation, and high-octane racing success.

Celebrating 110 iconic years, ARCADIA will feature 110 of the most unique and prized Aston Martins from across the globe. Including special, limited edition sportscars from Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon, UK, and the prized collections of passionate Aston Martin owners from across the Asia Pacific region.

Opening the three-day-event, 110 Aston Martins will convene in Tokyo for a Concours d’Elegance at the temple of Kinryuzan Senso-ji, the oldest place of worship in the Japanese capital, which maintains a history dating back to 628 AD. In what is a world first, Aston Martin is the first automotive brand to have the privileged opportunity to display its cars at the prestigious location.

In addition to the Concours d’Elegance, a Gala Dinner, charity auction, and a high-octane track running at Fuji Speedway will take place across the three-day celebratory event. In the spirit of Aston Martin’s history of models with mythological names, the event has been christened ARCADIA, a version of paradise in Ancient Greece.

Gregory Adams, Regional President – Asia said: “We are very proud to host our first ASTON MARTIN ARCADIA event in Japan to commemorate our 110th anniversary.

“The first-of-its-kind event promises to be a special three days where we can celebrate our past, present and a glimpse into our future with the likes of Aston Martin Valhalla being displayed to our passionate customers in Asia. The iconic line-up of 110 cars showcases our passion for performance, technology, impeccable craftsmanship and exceptional design and I can’t wait to warmly welcome our owners, fans and community.”
